[FHCx162] National Iced Tea Day/National Herbs and Spices Day/National Black Cow Day

Don’t drink all your calories…

TODAY IS NATIONAL ICED TEA DAY AND NATIONAL HERBS AND SPICES DAY AND NATIONAL BLACK COW DAY!

One of SP‘s favorite treats on a warm, sunny, summer day is SPom’s iced tea. She uses Good Earth‘s Sweet n Spicy tea (Not to be confused with our local restaurant, The Good Earth, where we celebrated Blondie Day). The tea has a lot of herbs and spices, like cinnamon, lemongrass, ginger, anise, and peppermint. So we get to celebrate two days with the one drink!

A drink to have while looking out the back door at a bright, sunny, warm day, and—

Oh. Oh well.

Next up, the Black Cow! If you look up “Black Cow,” one of your choices of definition is “a cow that is black.” We determined this was likely not the food holiday meant to be celebrated instead. More probably, this is the fancy term (that no one uses) for a Root Beer Float. Not to be confused with a “Brown Cow” which is made with chocolate ice cream.

Ice cream first!

Root beer tends to fizz a heck of a lot with the ice cream.

Another great summery treat. And then when you’ve spooned out all the ice cream, you get a vanilla-y root beer to drink. Very satisfying.

Tomorrow is National German Chocolate Cake Day and National Corn on the Cob Day.
