TODAY IS NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CANDY!
Take your pick of chocolate candy. We picked these two for some seriously good reasons. First up, Kit Kat.
There’s a special ring of hell for people who eat Kit Kats like this.
Not that there’s one right way to eat a Kit Kat, but come on people. Be civilized. Kit Kat is definitely one of SP‘s kryptonite foods. Not that it’s objectively amazing, but there’s something beautiful in the simplicity of chocolate wafer layers. We got ours in KING SIZE today.
We also had a Snickers today. When it comes down to advertising candies, Snickers really did a great job. They’re pretty ingenious at the digital manipulation of pre-existing scenes. Our favorite of the “you’re being a butt; have a snickers” ads is Danny Trejo/Steve Buscemi:
King size wasn’t sufficient for the Snickers today. You call that king size? HOW ABOUT DIS.
Look at that beautiful cross section.
Chocolate candy really is the best candy.
Tomorrow is National Pepper Pot Day.
IT’S NATIONAL CHOCOLATE COVERED ANYTHING DAY!
Most things are improved by covering them in chocolate: nuts, fruits, macaroni, chili peppers, bacon, ants…
People do that stuff! Really! There is a list on wikipedia of chocolate covered foods. Why?!
We picked these up at the store to be mildly different, but not too adventurous.
Guess what they tasted like? Chocolate. That’s all that’s important.
Tomorrow is National Maple Syrup Day.
We’re getting weird.
IT’S NATIONAL COCOA DAY AND NATIONAL ICE CREAM AND VIOLINS DAY!
Why violins? A quick google search shows that a whole bunch of people perpetuate this holiday without knowing where it even came from. We just do what we’re told when people tell us to eat ice cream. AKma and AKpa provided the soundtrack of violin music. Here were some picks.
New flavor from Halo Top!
On the one hand, ice cream is great. On the other hand, it’s December and…
So really what helped us today was celebrating cocoa. Cocoa could mean a lot of things to a lot of people but the first thing that came to mind for us was a hot cup of chocolatey comfort. On a frigid day like today, it’s important to have hot cocoa.
Tea, Cocoa, and Cider pots that we keep in our kitchen.
Panda mug is a good mug… Wait a minute… Something’s missing.
Aha! Perfect :3
Tomorrow is National Bouillabaisse Day.
IT’S NATIONAL BROWNIE DAY!
We want to share with you a “recipe” that is dear to SP‘s heart on this brownie day. Yes, we sure wish we could eat those triple chocolate, ultra-dense brownies that SPom makes, but those require reeeeally special occasions. And this recipe is all sorts of fun to share with people.
Empty the black beans in a mixing bowl, juice and everything.
BLEND! FIERCELY BLEND! You can also do this in a food processor.
Throw in the brownie mix.
Pour into greased 13×9 pan. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes.
These brownies are dense and chocolatey and gooey. They taste nothing of the black beans, but just rich brownie flavor. You will love them. Guaranteed.
Tomorrow is National Pastry Day!
IT’S NATIONAL COOKIE DAY!
AK bought these, so this is what we did for cookie day:
Just kidding. Well, we did eat them, and they did taste like sugar cookies, but still! We have to bake cookies. We weren’t going to go completely from scratch, as we have on many other cookie days, because we had this mix sitting around from a long time ago.
Delicious chocolate chip cookies.
Tomorrow is National Sacher Torte Day!
Not mouse, not moose,
IT’S NATIONAL MOUSSE DAY!
Air bubbles making something tastier? Ridiculous… but true! There’s something about the texture of a mousse that really adds to the experience, and of course the French food scientists would be the ones to come up with it.
As if we’ve never featured Lund’s & Byerly’s amazing bakery before, tonight’s mousse was a special treat from the ol’ LnBs (pronounced, “Ellenby’s”).
He’s so happy that he’s about to be digested!
Look at that beautiful moussey center…
Tomorrow is National Pie Day (we disagree) and National Eat a Red Apple Day!
It took us this long to just have cake.
IT’S NATIONAL CAKE DAY!
Put a food word in front of cake and it sounds much more interesting. Corn cakes. Banana cakes. Spaghetti cakes, a.k.a. lasagna. Potato cakes. All good. Every single one.
But there’s one that stands above all, and that is the chocolate cake. Is there really anything more comforting, more delicious, or more gratifying than a slice of chocolate cake? They look good, they smell good, they feel good. Chocolate cake is life.
So even if today isn’t the anniversary of when you joined Reddit, you can still enjoy a beautiful chunk of whatever kind of cake you want.
This cake is chocolate AF.
Super Target’s bakery is really bringing it these days. Really tasty.
Tomorrow is National Bavarian Cream Pie Day!
IT’S NATIONAL PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE DAY!
Which is conspicuously similar to National Nutty Fudge Day. With the many fudge holidays we’ve celebrated, we weren’t surprised to see that Peanut Butter Fudge Day was a thing. We also aren’t upset by any stretch of the imagination. Peanut butter and chocolate is a great combo.
Thankfully in bite size pieces. We were able to ditch a bunch of it so we didn’t have it sitting around being all tempting ‘n stuff.
Tomorrow is National Stuffing Day! Let the Thanksgiving-themed foods begin!
IT’S NATIONAL SUNDAE DAY!
Any kind you want. It doesn’t have to be hot fudge or strawberry. Just ice cream and toppings. Usually whipped cream, some sort of sauce or syrup, maybe some fruit. Sprinkles? If you got ’em.
Tomorrow is National Chicken Soup for the Soul Day and National Pizza With Everything (Except Anchovies) Day!
IT’S NATIONAL BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE WITH ALMONDS DAY!
Chocolate. Dark. Add almonds. Kay.
Tomorrow is National Cappuccino Day, National Harvey Wallbanger Day, and National Cook Something Bold Day.
