IT’S NATIONAL CHERRY POPSICLE DAY!
Remember grape popsicle day? Well the Cherry Lobby must have just been counting days and going, “wait a minute…” before they invented cherry popsicle day.
It hasn’t been too hot outside here. But that makes it easier to eat! If it’s slightly cooler where you eat, you don’t get a sticky red mess all over you, making you look like you just murdered something.
Tomorrow is National Banana Lovers’ Day and National Pots De Creme Day!
TODAY IS NATIONAL BANANA SPLIT DAY AND NATIONAL WHISKEY SOUR DAY!
We don’t really get whiskey sour. Whiskey with a little bit of lemon and sugar just makes it taste more like whiskey. Eh. We were out to dinner with SParents at Pezzo and so we could give the rest of it to them!
We did get to cleanse our palette with some stuff we love, though: ice cream! Ice cream summer never ends! Well, it kind of does pretty soon, but we’re in denial!
Invented in 1904, the banana split takes nature’s best fruit and pairs it with the best cold dessert. Here is the banana split AK made in its most beautiousness.
Halo Top is great.
Put the ice cream inside and cover in whipped cream
Some chopped pecans for fun.
We could probably eat these all day.
Tomorrow is National Cherry Popsicle Day!
Two amazing things…
IT’S NATIONAL ICE CREAM PIE DAY!
Baking a pie in mid summer is pretty rough. The house gets all warm and smells like falling asleep… Ahem, where were we… Ah, yes, pie! And ice cream! Cold, delicious ice cream, formed into a pie. SPom put this beauty together for us.
This has quickly become Minnesota’s most wanted. Sometimes at Whole Foods, sometimes at Kowalski’s… It’s pretty great.
You’ve seen this before. Helps to make it thicken up.
Such a fun time.
Tomorrow is National Soft Ice Cream Day, National Potato Day, and National Hot & Spicy Food Day.
One of the best!
TODAY IS NATIONAL CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM DAY!
Chocolate ice cream. We don’t even know what else to say.
Tomorrow is National Jelly-Filled Donut Day!
Pop goes the sicle?
IT’S NATIONAL GRAPE POPSICLE DAY!
Mad Men – Popsicle Pitch from Paulo Silva on Vimeo.
You know that you’re reaching summer when you first get that taste of popsicle. Whether you froze it yourself from some juice or you got a store-bought brand, there is something very transcendent about the sensation of a popsicle. For many people, it’s a reminder of a time long, long ago. Summer meant freedom and ice cream and play time. And as it’s getting significantly hotter here, we were happy to enjoy the popsicle.
Wait a sec, Popsicle is the name of the brand? Oh how genericization has let us forget. Yes, just like Crock-Pot and Kleenex, Popsicle is just a trademarked name for an ice pop. But still, many people try to attempt their own kind of popsicle. For example, Snapple tried to beat the world record for popsicle size, and uh… disaster struck. My favorite part of that story is that firefighters hosed away the melted goo while people fled to higher ground. Entertaining, to say the least.
We celebrated with the official brand.
Refreshing! A good way to cool off without blasting too much AC.
Tomorrow is National Brisket Day and National Hamburger Day!
